Investigation Reports

Investigation Reports (IRs) are listed by year and are posted as soon as the Report is made available to the public. The OIPC began issuing IRs in 1998. IRs beginning with the letter "P" are made under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and generally involve the private sector; the letter "H" indicates the IR pertains to the Health Information Act, and "F" refers to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Search Tips

The search feature on this page allows you to search all IRs for keywords. For example, if you use this page to search for the term education, your search will return every IR that contains education in the body of the document.

You can also use this search feature to bring up specific IRs. Entering 2001-IR-001 will take you directly to that Investigation Report page.

If you are searching for specific section numbers, the term of your search should be included in quotation marks. For example, to search for IR's containing a reference to section 24(1)(a), your search term will need to be entered as “24(1)(a)”.
