Read the Act
On January 1, 2002, the revised Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP Act), R.S.A. 2000, c. F-25, came into force. Most of the section numbers of the FOIP Act changed; however, the content of the sections has generally remained the same.
As a result, section numbers in Orders, Investigation Reports, External Adjudicator’s Decisions and Judicial Reviews issued before January 1, 2002 reflect the FOIP Act, S.A. 1994, c. F-18.5. When searching for a particular section number in one of these decisions, you must search both the present section under the FOIP Act R.S.A. 2000, c. F-25 and the previous section number under the FOIP Act, S.A. 1994, c. F-18.5.
